🎸 rec room + paper book + habit recipe
Three things I am making, loving + thinking about this week
01 | making
We wrapped up the transformation of Chris’s old office to what has now been officially dubbed the Rec Room. Behind that red wall with the two movie posters is our in-house Kinko’s. There was a second office where the two La-Z-Boys and TV are now; you can see the outline of the old walls on the ceiling. I loved our office and it served us very well for 15+ years, but now that it’s set up as an entertainment, music-making, hang-out space, it’s hard to imagine that it was ever anything else.

I received my copy of Rag & Pulp – the latest installment in the Encyclopedia of Inspiration series from Uppercase Magazine. These subject-specific books are beautifully designed and chock-full of creative inspiration and resources. This volume, focused on all things paper, features Bari Zaki Studio – my favorite purveyor of paper products, bookbinding, and stationery supplies. I ordered my copy directly from Bari so I could experience her trademark unboxing experience and snag one of these handmade bookmarks that are included with every of the book from her online shop.
03 | thinking
I love a good recipe; here’s a great one from James Clear:
“Enough courage to get started + enough sense to focus on something you’re naturally suited for + enough persistence to stay in the game long enough to catch a few lucky breaks + a lot of hard work. There’s your recipe.”
And a note from me: you already have all of the ingredients.
